Pimp my ride UK
Pimp my ride UK [MTV UK] is on TV, and I have managed to see it for the first time. Well, what can I say...
If you have ever watched "Pimp my ride" US edition, you will know that it is presented by super cool Xzibit. You may also have noticed that it takes place in the most amazing workshop there has to be, it is kitted out with every tool and gadget! It's almost as if "West Coast Customs" didn't actually exist, and it was all in a set... yes it's that clean.
Now, as for "Pimp my ride UK", thats a different matter. Firstly it's presented by "Westwood", a man rather reminiscent of Roland Rat, with the attitude of a middle aged white man trying hard to be "hip" or "cool". "Westwood" is half crazy, half genius. I justify this, as he has made his career being slightly odd, talking like a gansta' and waving his "rap fingers" about like a crazy fool... he's raking in the cash.
Next there is the workshop. This reminds me of a cowshed with a few fairly good tools on display, nothing at all like the prestiege of "West coast customs" (WCC).
Although WCC looks like it may be artificial, the Immemorable shop in the UK version is not up to scratch at all. It's almost like it's under a railway bridge in the east end of London somewhere, with crack addicts hanging around outside.
The staff that work there are wooden, boring, and not entertaining like the US conterparts. They seem to lack any animation at all, and give the screen performance on par with an east end motor mechanic.
Bah, just don't watch it unless you want to have a good laugh at Westwood
